The Hidden Kingdom Motorcycle Tour for 09 Days Travel Itinerary
Day 01: Guwahati – Samdrup Jongkhar – Bhangtar (180m, 175 Km / 5-6 Hours)
Upon arriving at Guwahati domestic airport, meet our local tour guide at the airport. After a short introduction, drive to Indo-Bhutan border which takes about approximately 3 hours’ drive depending upon traffic flow. Once we reach at Indo-Bhutan border gate, complete immigration formalities. After completing immigration formalities, we will start first day of the ride to Bhangtar for an overnight stay which is expected to take about 2 hours ride from the Samdrup Jongkhar town. The Bhangtar is located in the remote part of eastern Bhutan situated at an elevation of 180-250m where most popular and expensive rice called Khamti is grown here by the local farmers of this particular area besides arecanut product. Bhangtar also popular destination for Bird watching tour and Bhutan Fly-fishing tour. Check into the lodge. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Bhangtar.
Day 02: Bhangtar ( Day Excursion)
Today we will spend whole day exploring in and around Bhangtar valley. In the evening, witness Shaman program. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Bhangtar – Trashigang Ride (1,500m, 220 Km, 6-7 Hours)
After early breakfast, we will leave for Trashigang crossing beautiful mountains, hills, stream and breathtaking countryside view. We will enjoy countryside off road ride for about 3-4 hours. Later we will join with main national highway connecting Trashigang district. We will stop for a lunch at Wamrong. After lunch we continue our ride to Trashigang for an overnight stay crossing Khaling and Kanglung university. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Trashigang.
Day 04: Trashigang – Mongar Ride (Rangjung Monastery & Trashigang Dzong) (1,600m, 90 Km, 3 Hours)
Before we ride to Mongar, we will ride to visit Rangjung Monastery which is 1 hour ride and on the way back visit to Trashigang Dzong(fortress) Later, we leave for Mongar for an overnight stay crossing Yadi town and Korila Pass. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Mongar.
Day 05: Mongar – Bumthang Ride (2,600m, 198 Km, 6-7 Hours)
Today we will leave early for Bumthang valley for an overnight stay crossing beautiful Namling waterfall and Thrimshingla Pass. Check into the hotel. Evening stroll around Chamkhar town. Dinner and overnight stay at Bumthang.
Day 06: Bumthang – Trongsa - Phobjikha Ride (3,000m, 188 Km, 5-6 Hours)
After crossing Yotongla Pass, we descend down for Trongsa. On the way we will stop for a hot lunch. On the way we will stop for a photography. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Phobjikha valley.
Day 07: Phobjikha – Punakha – Thimphu Ride (2,300m, 135 Km, 4-5 Hours)
We ride for Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan crossing beautiful Punakha Dzong and Dochu La Pass(3100m) Morning we visit to Gangtey Goenpa Monastery and then ride continue for Thimphu. Stop at Punakha for a hot lunch. Visit to Punakha Dzong(fortress) Later, ride to Thimphu for an overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 08: Thimphu – Paro Ride (Tiger’s Nest) (2,200m, 65 Km / 1 ½ Hour)
Early morning ride to Tiger’s Nest base which takes about 60-90 minutes ride from the capital city. Later, hike to Tiger’s Nest(Taktshang) which is expected to take about 2-3 hours depending on your walking speed and while coming down it takes about 60-90 minutes to reach to the base. In the evening stroll around Paro town. Later visit to local farmhouse to enjoy typical Bhutanese dinner. Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 09: Paro – Phuntsholing Ride ( 250m, 160Km, 4-5 Hours)
Morning hour we will spend visiting to Kichu Temple, Ta Dzong(museum) and Paro Rinpung Dzong(fortress) After sightseeing, we descend down for Phuntsholing, the Indian brodering town for an overnight stay crossing Gedu university and Kharbandi Goemba. Evening at leisure or stroll around Phuntsholing town. Dinner and overnight stay at Phuntsholing.
Day 10: Phuntsholing – Guwahati Ride (30m, 360 Km, 6-7 Hours)
After breakfast, we will checked out from the hotel and start long day ride to Guwahati for an overnight stay following Indian National Highway and today’s ride going to be relaxing along the plains of Indian National Highway. Check into the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Guwahati, India.
Day 11: Guwahati – Delhi / Kolkata (Departure / Exit)
Our team will transfer you to the Guwahati domestic airport for your onward flight to back home. Your memorable Bhutan Motorcycle tour ends here. We wish you safe flight back home. Tashi Delek!
