Bhutan Motorcycle Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Bagdogra Airport – Phuntsholing (165 KM / 4 Hours)
Take a morning flight to Bagdogra Airport from Delhi or Kolkata, India. Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will be met by our team and transfer you to Phuntsholing, Bhutan, which is 4 hours, drive through hustle and bustle city of West Bengal, India. Phuntsholing is a nearest bordering town, sharing its boundary with Indian State of Bengal and Phuntsholing,Bhutan is a main business hub for many Bhutanese and Indian peoples. Once we are at Indo Bhutan border, we will complete India Visa formalities and than enter Bhutan. Complete Bhutan visa formalities with Bhutan Immigration Department and than check into the hotel. Evening, take a familiarization ride on Motorcycle around the Phuntsholing city. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02: Phuntsholing – Paro (160 KM / 4-5 Hours)
After breakfast, turn on Motorcycle’s engine and start hitting the Bhutan’s road to Paro. Once, we leave Phuntsholing town, the road climbs up hill until we cross small Gedu town and after that we will descend down till we reach Chukha Bridge. Again, the road genteelly climbs up until we cross Tshimasham and road from here is very narrow with too many sharp bends. Stop at Tanalum checkpoint and complete paper works. After riding for a 15 minutes, again road descend town until we reach Damchu stretch. Check into hotel. After lunch, visit to Ta Dzong (museum) and Rinpung Dzong (fortress) Evening stroll around. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Paro – Thimphu (Tiger’s Nest) (65Km / 1 Hour)
Wake up early and get ready to hike to world’s famous temple “Tiger’s Nest” or locally known as Taktshang. We park our Motorcycle at parking lot and hike to Tiger’s Nest and it is expected to take about 3 hours hike uphill and 1 hour down hill.  After enjoying lunch, we will leave for Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Evening, stroll around Thimphu town or rest in hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04: Thimphu Sightseeing
Today, we have whole day in Thimphu to explore around. After breakfast, ride to visit Memorial Stupa, built in memory of late 3rd King of Bhutan. Visit to mini Takin Zoo, the National Animal of Bhutan. Visit to National Library, the world largest book is kept here. Visit to Painting School, where young Bhutanese undergo 5 years training in different kind of Arts and Crafts of Bhutan. Followed by a visit to Bhutanese Handmade Paper factory. In the evening visit to Craft Bazaar (market) and Tashichoo Dzong (fortress / castle) Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Thimphu – Punakha – Gangtey (135 Km / 4-5 Hour)
Early to ride for Gangtey valley but we will stop at Punakha valley for some sightseeing. Enroute to Dochu La Pass. Stop for a quick photo at pass. If weather permitting; one can able to witness panoramic of Himalayan range. Later, we descend down until we reach Lobesa town. Visit to Punakha Dzong(fortress) located between Male & Female River(Pho Chu & Mo Chu) After lunch, we enjoy continue ride for Phobjikha valley crossing through Bajo town and Wangdiphodrang disctrict. Check into hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06: Gangtey – Trongsa – Bumthang (188Km / 5-6 Hour)
After breakfast, we will ride for Bumthang through Trongsa and Chendebji Stupa. Stop at Trongsa and visit to Trongsa Dzong (fortress) and Ta Dzong (museum) After sightseeing, ride further to Bumthang for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 07: Bumthang Sightseeing
Today we will enjoy a day ride to visit Ugyencholing Palace (museum) under Tang valley. We will take post / packed lunch or we will have at local farmhouse. Later we will ride back to Bumthang for overnight stay. Evening stroll around Chamkhar town. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 08: Bumthang – Mongar(198Km / 7-8 Hours)
After enjoying breakfast, we will ride for Mongar district, crossing second highest pass Thrumshing La Pass through Ura valley (3780m) that connects central and eastern Bhutan. Later in Mongar, visit to Mongar Dzong (fortress) and stroll around. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 09: Mongar – Trashigang (91Km / 3-4 Hours)
We will ride for Trashigang town via Kori La Pass. Later in Trashigang, visit to the Trashigang Dzong (fortress) which is located on hilltop. Check into the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 10: Trashigang – Trashi Yangtse – Trashigang (52Km / 2 Hours)
Today we will a enjoy day excursion ride to Trashiyangtse, one of the last districts among Eastern Bhutan. Visit to Chortenkora Stupa and Trashiyangtse (fortress) After lunch, we will ride back to Trashigang for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11: Trashigang – Samdrup Jongkhar (180Km / 7 Hours)
Today we will enjoy a long day ride and last day of ride to Samdrup Jongkhar, the nearest bordering town with Indian State of Assam, India.  Samdrup Jongkhar is a main business hub for many eastern Bhutanese and peoples residing near border town. Our ride till Wamrong will be an uphill and after crossing Wamrong we will descend down all the way till Samdrup Jongkhar town. Enroute to Khaling Handloom Centre and Deothang. Evening stroll around. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 12: Samdrup Jongkhar – Guwahati (110Km / 3 Hours)
After breakfast, leave your Motorcycle behind in Bhutan and drive to Guwahati, India through stretch road crossing many paddy fields and small settlements. We will complete immigration formalities at Indo Bhutan Border.  Check into the hotel. Later enjoy Brahmaputra River Cruise in Guwahati. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 13: Guwahati – Delhi / Kolkata
Our vehicle will pick you up from hotel lobby and transfer you to airport for your onward flight to Delhi / Kolkata. Your beautiful Bhutan Ride ends here!
