Day 01: Arrive Bagdogra Airport – Phuntsholing, Bhutan (165 KM / 4 Hours)
Take a morning hour flight to Bagdogra Airport from Delhi or Kolkata, India. Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will be met by our team who will transfer you to Phuentsholing, Bhutan, which is about 4-5 hours’ drive through a hustling and bustling road of West Bengal, India. Phuntsholing is the nearest bordering town, sharing its boundary with Indian State of Bengal. Once we are at Phuntsholing, we will complete the visa formalities with Bhutan Immigration Department and then check into the hotel. In the evening, you can take a familiarization ride on Motorcycle around the Phuentsholing city. Dinner and overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
Day 02: Phuentsholing – Paro (160 KM / 4-5 Hours)
Today we ride towards the higher altitude; this is an exciting journey to our destination for today, Paro. The route demands a climb through one of the foggiest mountain roads in the country to Gedu a small town and after that we will descend till, we reach Chukha Bridge where we would need to show our immigration paperwork to the authorities. The road gently climbs up to a junction; we take the new road towards Thimphu/Paro. This road is new and exciting, and dangerous at the same time. We ride along the road until we reach a long Bridge (Chuzom), the confluence of Thimphu, Paro, Phuentsholing and Haa highways. Ride towards Paro. Upon arrival to Paro, check into the hotel. After lunch, visit to Ta Dzong (museum) and Rinpung Dzong (fortress) and even stroll around Paro town in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Paro – (Tiger’s Nest) – Thimphu (65 Km / 1 Hour)
Rise and shine and get ready to hike to Bhutan’s famous temple “Tiger’s Nest” or locally known as Taktshang. We park our Motorcycles at the parking lot and hike to Tiger’s Nest which is expected to take about 3 hours hike uphill and 1 hour downhill. After enjoying a sumptuous lunch in Paro town, we will leave for Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. In the evening, stroll around Thimphu town or rest in the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04: Thimphu Sightseeing
It is the day to explore Thimphu! You have a whole day so you can have a relaxing morning or choose to go for an early morning refresher ride, no restrictions! Start your excursions with a ride to visit Memorial Stupa, built in memory of late 3rd King of Bhutan, to statue of Buddha Dordenma and to mini Takin Zoo, the National Animal of Bhutan. Visit to National Library, the world largest book is kept here. Visit to Painting School where young Bhutanese people undergo 5 years of training in learning 13 different kinds of Arts and Crafts of Bhutan. Followed by a visit to Bhutanese Handmade Paper factory. In the evening visit to Craft Bazaar (market) and Tashichodzong (fortress / His Majesty the King’s office). Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05: Thimphu – Punakha – Gangtey (135 Km / 4-5 Hour)
Today we will be riding to Gangtey valley with exciting stops on the way. The first such stop is at Dochu La pass adorned with 108 stupas with an amazing view of the Himalayan range, then we stop at Punakha valley for sightseeing, starting from Lobesa town. We ride further into Punakha to visit Punakha Dzong (fortress) located between Pho Chu & Mo Chu (literally, male and female rivers). After lunch, we continue our ride to the beautiful wide valley of Phobjikha valley crossing through Bajo town and Wangdiphodrang district. Check into hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06: Gangtey – Trongsa – Bumthang (200 Km / 5-6 Hour)
Our ride today is to Bumthang through Trongsa and short stop at Chendebji Stupa and have lunch in Trongsa followed by a visit to Trongsa Dzong (fortress). After sightseeing, ride further to Bumthang for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 07: Bumthang Sightseeing
Today we will enjoy a day ride to visit Ugyencholing Palace (a museum) in Tang valley. Lunch can be an option between packed lunches or at a local farmhouse. Later we will ride back to Bumthang for the night. Explore and stroll around Chamkhar town in Bumthang. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08: Bumthang – Mongar (198 Km / 7-8 Hours)
Bidding goodbye to Bumthang we will continue our ride for Mongar district, crossing second highest pass Thrumshing La Pass through Ura valley (3,780m) that connects central and eastern Bhutan. Later in Mongar, visit to Mongar Dzong (fortress) and stroll around. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Mongar.
Day 09: Mongar – Trashigang (91 Km / 3-4 Hours)
Today we will ride for Trashigang town, a small-town hub in the eastern part of Bhutan via Kori La Pass. Later in Trashigang, visit to the Trashigang Dzong (fortress) which is located on a hilltop. Check into the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10: Trashigang – Trashi Yangtse – Trashigang (52 Km / 2 Hours)
This is an exciting day for ride to Trashiyantse, the ultimate eastern town of Bhutan offering serene views and an amazing road. Ride to the iconic Chorten Kora Stupa and Trashiyangtse Dzong (fortress). After lunch, we will ride back to Trashigang for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11: Trashigang – SamdrupJongkhar (180 Km / 7 Hours)
Today we will enjoy a long day ride and last day of ride to Samdrup Jongkhar from Tashigang. Samdrup Jongkhar is the nearest bordering town at the south eastern front of Bhutan sharing the border with Indian State of Assam. Samdrup Jongkhar is a main business hub for many eastern Bhutanese and peoples residing near border town. Our ride till Yonphula will be an uphill and after crossing Wamrong we will descend all the way to Samdrup Jongkhar town. Along the way, you can notice few local handicraft business stands and we can stop at Khaling Handloom Centre in Tashigang and Deothang in Samdrup Jongkhar. Check into Hotel in SamdrupJonkhar. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12: Samdrup Jongkhar – Guwahati (110 Km / 3 Hours)
With the ride tour coming to end, leave your motorcycle behind, complete immigration formalities at Indo-Bhutan Border and drive to Guwahati, India through a stretch road crossing paddy fields and small Indian settlements. Check into the hotel in Guwahati. Later, enjoy Brahmaputra River Cruise in Guwahati. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 13: Guwahati – Delhi / Kolkata
Our vehicle will pick you up from hotel lobby and transfer you to airport for your onward flight to Delhi / Kolkata. Your beautiful Bhutan Ride ends here!
