Spend 7 Nights angling trip in the rivers of Bhutan. The Haa River homes numerous Rainbow Trout and less number of Brown Trout.

Spend a night in tent on the bank of Wangchu (River) for your angling experience of Brown Trout in Bhutan Himalayas.

Fishing tackle recommended for fly fishing tour in Bhutan

Bhutan Trout Fishing Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Paro
One you arrived at Paro International Airport; you will be met by our representative from Travel Madness Tour Company. Our guide and driver will greet you at airport with your placard and after short introduction, transfer to hotel. After refreshing awhile, visit to Ta Dzong (museum), Rinpung Dzong and Kichu Temple. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Paro – Haa (Angling)
Today we will drive early to Haa valley which is about 03hrs journey. Enroute Cheli Pass (3988 M) which separates boundaries between Haa and Paro valley. Weather permitting on clear day, one can able to witness the panoramic view of Mt. Jumolhari. After we cross, highest point, we then descent down towards Haa valley. Later in the afternoon, we will do some trout angling at Haa River. Dinner and overnight stay at camp / tent.

Day 03: Angling in Haa Valley
Today, we will spend whole day angling along stream of Haa valley and river in Haa valley is crystal clear. We will come across with many rainbow trout and brown trout. Haa is a main breeding centre for rainbow trout and brown trout. Our today’s lunch will be served at river bank of Haa. After lunch we will continue our fishing day in Haa River. Dinner and overnight stay at camp / tent.

Day 04: Haa – Damchu
We will gear up right after breakfast to Damchu, below confluence of Pa Chu and Wangchu. It’s expected to takes about 3 hrs journeys to our fishing point. We will spend half of the day doing trout angling along Wangchu (river) Dinner and overnight stay at camp / tent.

Day 05: Angling at Damchu Stretch – Thimphu
Today we will spend whole day angling along the stretch of Damchu. Lunch will be served at river bank. Later in the evening drive back to thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan for overnight stay. It will take about hardly 1 hour to reach Thimphu from fishing spot. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06: Thimphu – Punakha
After breakfast, before we headed to Punakha Valley, we will spend half of the day in Thimphu visiting to Memorial Stupa, built in memory of 3rd King of Bhutan, Giant Buddha Dordenma Statue, world third largest standing Buddha in the world facing towards East, overlooking whole Thimphu valley, Takin Reserve (National Animal of Bhutan) and then to Painting School, where students learn 13 different kinds of Arts and Craft. After lunch, depart for Punakha Valley. Enroute to Dochu La Pass(108 stupas) After crossing highest pass between Punakaha and Thimphu, we then descent down, crossing Mitsina and Lobesa village. In the evening visit to Punakha Dzong (fortress) Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 07: Punakha – Paro (Tiger’s Nest)
We will start very early for Paro valley, crossing Dochu La Pass, following Punakha – Thimphu highway. Our will will drop you at Tiger’s Nest base. Hike to Tiger’s Nest and it will take about 3 hour hike uphill and likewise, 1 hour downhill. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 08: Paro / Exit (Departure)
Morning after breakfast, our guide and driver will transfer you to airport for your onward flight.
Note: To run this Bhutan Trout Fishing tour, minimum group size requirements is not less than 3-5 Pax in a small groups and maximum between 6 – 12 person at a time. If group is less than 3 people than cost will differ.
