Trans -Himalaya Overland Border Crossing Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Myawaddy – Hpa – An (150 Km / 3 Hours)
Upon arrival at border meet our tour guide and complete the custom formalities and immigration process. After completion of paperwork start enjoying your ride on AH1 to Hpa-an, an area well known for its un-spoilt beauty of nature. En route, visit Saddan cave where is believed the Buddha lived as he was an Elephant. Kawkathaung Cave and the authentic Karen village.You will spend your evening in Kyaukkalat pagoda and check into the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02: Hpa – An – Kyaikhto (134 Km / 2 ½ – 3 Hours)
After breakfast, continue adventurous riding to Kyaikhto. On the way stop and detour awhile in BayinNyi cave. On your arrival to Kin Pun basecamp, check in hotel and prepare for visit to Golden Rock. You will transit to the open truck and enjoy the exhilarating ride to the top of the mountain. On the peak, you will see the open and fabulous environment quite fresh and walk for 15 minutes and arrive to the Golden Rock pagoda. Enjoy your day on the summit by watching the activities and astonished the existence of the Pagoda. In the evening you will head down back to the basecamp and overnight at hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03: Kyaikhto – Yangon (173 Km / 4 Hours)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and continue riding to Yangon. On arrival to outskirt of Yangon, drive to the place to keep your bikes overnight as motorcycles are only allowed to Gov officers in Yangon municipal areas. You commute into town in our pre-arranged Mini-coach to check in hotel. In the evening, you will stroll in downtown and enjoy the atmosphere of British era and lively daily activities of Yangon. You will spend your evening at 19th barbeque street in china town and then return to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04: Yangon
Myanmar moves forward along with economics after 2015. Myanmar railway network still used the classic slow RBE trains. Yangon is encircled with its train network in a loop from central station and back to it. Today, you will enjoy the ride, which start from Central station.Your guide will pick you up from the hotel and enjoy the leisure morning walk to the train station. On board to train and relish a ride to KyeeMyintDine station where you hop off and stroll along the hectic activities of morning market. And then sit awhile in one of local teashop where you can observe local style of daily living by sipping a cup of tea and some snacks; Ei Kyar Kwe, Palata, Samusa and etc. After the market, you will have a trishaw ride bypass the market and narrow alleys in the quarters to where your car is wait to return. Being one of the largest lying Buddha in Myanmar, Chauk Htet Gyi statue received more fame among the visitors due to its proportionate and finest decoration. 108 sole marks or footprints are not be neglected because you can learn the religion and beliefs of a Buddhist. No vacation would be complete if you missed out Shwedagon Pagoda. You cannot help admired in its shape and glowing structure. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 05: Yangon – Naypyitaw via Mandalay old highway (405 Km / 6 Hours)
Depart from your hotel at earliest, transfer to the place to grasp your bikes and proceed to Naypyitaw. Today is second longest day to ride on, so gear up. You will pass town after town and village after village. Check into the hotel. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 06: Naypyitaw – Bagan (270 Km / 4 Hours)
Breakfast at the hotel and say goodbye to Naypyitaw. Proceed riding to ancient archeological site of Bagan. On arrival, check in hotel and get on board to our pre-arranged mini-coach for sightseeing in Bagan. Ananda temple is the finest architecture in and out of the temple among others in Bagan. Another one of the highest temple in Bagan after Thatbyinnyu temple is Htilominlo temple. Solid, gigantic and well-structured, Dhammayangyi temple is not only the culture or religion matter but the advanced masonry of ancient architects is on sight.Highest temple in Bagan, Thabyinnyu temple stands out among other wherever you have a look over the plain of Bagan. Temple visits are followed by sunset in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07: Bagan Sighstseeing
Most vigorous morning activities can be seen in this market. You also mingle and follow the crowd in alley through vendor shops one after another. You will see colorful fruits & amp; vegies grown, fishes & amp; meats and other daily use items. Just go as the way local do and buy a local costume called Longyi for Men wear and Hti-mi for Lady-wear and fashion you as a local. Most venerable stupa in Bagan for its ancient dome-shaped structure. Unlike the most others pagodas in Bagan, Shwezigon is a stupa with an enshrinement in waist of the stupa with golden glittering under the sunshine. Gubyaukgyi temple and Kyansittha U-min cave are followed in your visit. You will take a tour around the temples in Bagan on traditional horse-drawn cart. You will be taken to the jetty where your private wooden boat awaits. Sit back, chill out under the roof or open-deck and you will be treated with a fantastic scene along the way your boat rides on Irrawaddy River. Sunset view over the river is quite spectacular and quite unlike as you can watch on the Land. Just chilled out! As the sun sets in the west, you will return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 08: Bagan – Monywa (152 Km / 3 ½ Hour – 4 Hours)
Leave from hotel and ride to Monywa. Enjoy the ride passing picturesque landscape with patches of high-rise palm tree and gazing flock of goat and cattle. You might run into a group of kids returning from school to home. Before your arrival to Monywa, visit the largest standing Buddha with height of 116m and 90 m long reclining Buddha. Check into the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 09: Monywa – Kalay via Gangaw(350 Km / 7 Hours)
Get your morning Breakfast at the hotel and gear up for your longest ride and most adventurous part of road in Myanmar today. Ride on the combination of topography in central flat plain and western plateau of Myanmar including Pon Taung Pon Nyar mountain ranges which anthropologically and geologically importance because where the earliest human fossils were excavated. In the evening, you arrive to Kalay and check into the Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 10: Kalay – Tamu – Moreh, India – Imphal (243 Km / 6-7 Hours)
Today is easy and last day of the ride to Tamu (Myanmar) that is a small border town between Myanmar and India. We will come across many iron-framed bridges all the way long and famous Razagyo dam, which flooded over the plain of Kale and surroundings in 2016. On arrival to Tamu, complete the custom formalities and immigration processes for your smooth departure from Myanmar with the assistance of your guide. You will be met by our local guide from India and enter into Moreh (North East India) which is 6 minutes ride from border and ride further to Imphal for an overnight stay. Check into the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Imphal – Kohima (140 Km / 5 Hour)
After breakfast, before we leave for Kohima through Asian Highway 1. On the way we will visit to Naga heritage village or Kisama Heritage village in Nagaland which is the venue for the world famous Hornbill Festival held from the 1st till 10th December every year. The place is wrapped in breathtaking scenic views at the foothills of the lustrous and evergreen hills on the borderline of this village. Naga heritage village is rich in its traditions and cultural activities.  On visiting, you will see the unique thatched roofs on the traditionally built house, its wooden walls and delicately and nearly done carving of different designs – all of it has an age old rural essence. You will feel living just simply in a different era in your lifetime. This village comprises of Morungs or 16 different houses that are designed and made in such a way that it symbolizes 16 Naga tribes of Nagaland. These communiutes have restored some artifacts of World War II, its food courts, traditionally bamboo made halls and a stadium, which is famous for its Hornbill Festival. The scenic beauty of the village itself mesmerizes the tourists, and thus tourism has flourished in leaps and bounds in the region over the years. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Kohima – Dimapur (98 Km / 4-5 Hour)
After breakfast, we visit the commonwealth War Cemetery located in the heart of Kohima. The battle of Kohima is known as the bloodiest battle ever fought over the World war II. The Japanese forces advanced till Kohima and after a long bloody battle, they were defeated and had to retreat. After this, we ride to Dimapur, which is a largest city in Nagaland, India. Later, visit to Triple Falls that is located in the huge city of Dimapur in Nagaland. They are particularly located in Seithekima village, these three beautiful and glistering streams cascade from a height of 280ft into a natural pool making the entire view stunning. The falls and adjacent areas are well maintained by the Tourism Department of Nagaland with natural blooms. The heart-warming waterfall are not only for sightseeing but they also offer trekking opportunities as well. The triple falls gives a wonderful view to the tourist and it is indeed one of the best place to visit in Dimapur, Nagaland and visit to Kachari Ruins located in Dimapur, Nagaland. Their history dates back to the 10th century when they appeared during the Dimasa Kachari Civilization. The Dimasa Kachari ruins is a series of mushroom domed pillars. They were created by the Dimasa Kachari Kingdom, which ruled here before the Ahom invasion into the territory during the 13th century AD. Their origin and purpose are largely mysterious. The pillar are not well maintained. Some pillars still stand in all their glory but others have crumbled down. It is believed that a game similar to chess was played there with the mushroom domes. Presently, the people and the government have long neglected the ruins. It is a protected monument but not a single guard or police personnel can be seen there. Evening at leisure. Day 13: Dimapur – Guwahati (320 Km / 6-7 Hour)We will ride to Guwahati that is a sprawling city beside the Brahmaputra River in the northeast Indian state of Assam. It’s known for holy sites like the hilltop Kamakhya Temple, featuring shrines to the Hindu deities Shiva and Vishnu. To the east, 18th-century Navagraha Temple is an astronomical center with planetary shrines. Umananda Temple, dedicated to Shiva and covered with engravings, stands on Peacock Island in the river. Evening try Brahmaputra River Cruise. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14: Guwahati – Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan (100Km / 3 Hours)
After breakfast, we will visit to Kamakhya Temple. It is a Hindu Temple dedicated to the Mother Goddess Kamakhya and it is one of the oldest temple situated on the Nilachal Hill in western Part of Guwahati city in Assam,India.

After lunch we ride to Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan and it is expected to take about 3 hours journey to get there through hustle and bustle city. Upon arrival at Indo Bhutan border, we will complete visa formalities in both India and Bhutan part. Check into hotel. Evening stroll around. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15: Samdrup Jongkhar – Trashigang(180 Km / 6-7 Hours)
Today we will leave for Trashigang through Khaling and Wamrong. Our ride will be uphill until we reach to Wamrong and after crossing Wamrong we will descend down till we reach Chazam Bridge. We will stop at Khaling Handloom Centre. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 16: Trashigang – Trashiyangtse – Trashigang (54Km / 2 Hours)
Today we will do a day excursion ride to Trashiyangtse via Gomphukora. Stop at Gomphukora and spend sometimes-visiting Gomphukora temple. Later in Trashiyangtse, spend sometime visiting Chortenkora Stupa and Trashiyangtse Dzong(fortress) Late afternoon ride back to Trashigang for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 17: Trashigang – Mongar (91 Km / 3 Hours)
After early breakfast, we ride for Mongar crossing Korila Pass. We will ride further to explore around Khoma village which is approximately 75 Km away from Mongar town and Khoma is extremely popular for patterned silk textile. The very young women of Khoma village work in makeshift textile cottages, weaving delicate designs and patterns. If time permit, visit to Mongar Dzong (fortress) Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 18: Mongar – Bumthang(198 Km / 7 Hours)
Today we will be doing a long and challenging rides through east-west highway but adventurous one from Mongar crossing through Thrumshing La Pass (3,800m) with mesmerizing mountain views. If time permits, stroll around. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 19: Bumthang
Today we will spend our whole day in Bumthang doing local sightseeing. Visit to Jambay Lhakhang monastery, Kurje Lhakhang monastery, Tamzhing Monastery and Jakar Dzong. In the afternoon drive to visit Menbar Tsho (burning lake) Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 20: Bumthang – Gangtey (Phobjikha) (188Km / 7-8 Hours)
After breakfast, start a ride to Gangtey valley via Trongsa. Stop at Trongsa to visit Trongsa Dzong(fortress) and Ta Dzong(museum) Ride continue for Gangtey via Pele La Pass. Check into hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 21: Gangtey – Punakha – Thimphu(134 Km /  6 Hours)
After early breakfast, we will leave for Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan via Punakha. Stop at Punkha to visit Punakha Dzong(fortress) and Chimi Lhakhang temple. After lunch, we ride uphill through Dochu La Pass. Stop at Dochu La Pass for a panoramic view of Himalayan range. We will descend down until we reach Thimphu. Check into hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 22: Thimphu
Today we have whole day to explore Thimphu. After breakfast, we will visit to Memorial Stupa, Buddha Dordenma, Changangkha Temple, Takin Zoo (National Animal of Bhutan), Painting School, National Library and Tashichho Dzong (fortress) Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 23: Thimphu – Paro (55Km /1 Hour)
We will head for Paro Valley, which is popular in rice cultivation. While in Paro, visit to Ta Dzong(museum), Rinpung Dzong(fortress) and Kichu Temple. In the evening stroll around Paro town. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 24: Paro (Tiger’s Nest)
Wake up early in the morning for a hike to Tiger’s Nest. It is expected to take about 3 hours hike uphill and 1-hour downhill. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 25: Paro – Phuntsholing (180Km / 6-7 Hours)
After breakfast, we ride to Phuntsholing, the bordering town with India through Gedu and Chukha. Phuntsholing is one of the main points of entry and exit gateway for all travellers. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 26: Phuntsholing – Siliguri, India (162/ 4-5 Hours)
Today we will exit our Bhutan ride and then ride through India State of West Bengal through plains of India. Before we ride further, we will do visa exit formalities at Indo Bhutan border. After completing visa formalities we ride to Siliguri city for overnight stay. Stop at Coronation Bridge (locally known as Sevoke bridge) built to commemorate the coronation of King Goerge VI and Queen Elizabath in 1937 and was completed in 1941. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 27: Siliguri, India – Kakarvitta, Nepal – Biratnagar (113 Km / 3 Hours)
After breakfast we will cross the Mechinagar Bridge, which separates the border of India and Nepal. Stop at Kakarvitta for visa formalities and clear custom formalities. Later we ride further to Biratnagar for overnight stay, which is 3 hours ride. The Biratnagar is a metropolitan city and it’s located in Morang district in the Kosi Zone of the eastern Terai region on Nepal. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 28: Biratnagar – Janakpur (236KM / 5 Hours)
After breakfast ride for Janakpur which is the headquarter if Dhanusa District in Eastern Nepal. Visit to Janaki Mandir that is a Hindu temple in Janakpur in the Mithila region of Nepal, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Sita. It is an example of Hindu-Koiri Nepali architecture. It is often considered the most important model of Koiri architecture in Nepal. Dinner and overnight.

Day 29: Janakpur – Chitwan National Park
With our early morning breakfast we will get our gears ready and start riding our bike to the paddy field of the terai belt. Today we will pass through some of the known destination like Mithila, Lalbandhi, Hetauda, Parsa wildlife reserve. Hetauda is also know as the gate way to Kathmandu as it provide us the route to travel directly towards Kathmandu, But today we will skip this road and with the end of Lunch break we ride further towards sauraha Chitwan. Chitwan is also known for the homeland of Royal Bengal tiger, one horned rhino, and severed other endangered birds and animals. With the time available we might be able to enjoy Jungle activities on this day as well. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 30: Chitwan (Full Day Jungle Activities)
With early morning wake up call we will start to have a safari walk with our jungle guide who will let us visit bird watching destination, elephant breeding center, elephant safari. IF we are lucky we will get to see Royal Bengal Tiger one horned Rhino and other endangered species. We will also get to see the cultural traditional dance of Tharu, which has got special meaning and is used on different occasions of life among that culture. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 31: Chitwan – Pokhara (146Km / 5 Hours)
Starting our day with early breakfast we will follow the Narayanghat Muglin Highway riding on the riverbank of Trishuli. Since the road is under Construction we will have to ride on the gravel road till we reach Muglin. Then we will follow the Prithvi highway well known highway among all the travelers. Today highway is never like seen before as we will follow the massive shadow of Annapurna and Machhapuchre (Fish tail) until we reach to Pokhara. Pokhara also known as the city of Lake and the most searched destination among travelers. Pokhara is also known as the paradise city.Today we will also experience the boating of Phewa Lake and Later full day for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 32: Pokhara
Early morning we are going to warm up our bike with our ride to the hill top destination known as Sarangkot. This place is famous for it spots of Paragliding and for us it offers one of the best view of sunrise and panorama view of whole Annapurna Range. Later return at Hotel and have our breakfast. Today we will visit other destination like peace pagoda, davis fall and (Tibetan refugee camp or Mahendra cave or Bat Cave) Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 33: Pokhara – Kathmandu (200Km / 6 Hour)
Finally we will start our gear to get to the capital city of Nepal. Today roads are mostly full of twist and turns with all the truck and buses covering the way. Be sure to have a ride to the left side of the road as the speed of the truck and buses are never to be underestimated. But still the scenic views and the natural wind of all the grassland make the ride a best for all the riders. Once we reach to Naubise we will just be 30 km away from away from Kathmandu but this way is quite busy with truck and buses travelling from both side and due to the slow moments of carriers truck 30 km take more than expected time. With the passing of the check point we will finally reach to the borderline of Kathmandu but the traffic is hard to go fast on this track until we reach to hotel. Check into hotel. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 34: Kathmandu Sightseeing
Today we will cover half day of sightseeing inside the city of Kathmandu. We will visit some of the world heritage site of Kathmandu. Pashupatinath, Swayambhu and Kathmandu Durbar square. Later our office representative will have a visit to the hotel and will give further description about your further travel to Tibet and will provide your original passport and other documents along with visa of Tibet. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 35: Kathmandu – Kyirong (110 / 6-7 Hour)
This is the final day of ride inside Nepal as we make our way to Nepal, Tibet border following the steep winding descent to Trishuli. The beautiful views to match the rolling hills, deep forests and flowing streams make its one of the most enjoyable ride of all. We will also reach to the trekking starting destination of Langtang and Gosaikunda and national park around.Since this is a newly opened border we will not be able to have the best facilities of Hotel around and only Guest House or lodge is available for stay. Once we reach to Tibet border, we will complete visa exit formalities for Nepal portion and complete Tibet visa formalities as well. You will be met by Tibet local tour guide and transfer you to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Guest House.

Day 36: Kyirong
Today we will process our vehicle documents at traffic administration in Kyirong. Dinner and overnight stay at Kyirong.

Day 37: Kyirong – Everest Base Camp (370 KM / 7 Hours)
Morning we start riding for Everest Base Camp and arrive EBC in the late afternoon. Enjoy sunset at Mount Everest Base Camp. Tonight accommodation will be very simple (bathroom not attached). Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 38: Everest Base Camp – Shigatse (330KM / 6-7 Hours)
We ride across Gyatso Pass (5,220 meters) to Shigatse. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 39: Shigatse – Lhasa via Yamdrok Lake (350Km / 7 Hours)
We start early across a 5,000-meter high pass. Ride along the shores of mighty Yamdrok Lake. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 40: Lhasa
Today we will spend time visiting Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Market and the Potala Palace. Rest in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 41: Lhasa – Nyingtri(360KM / 7 Hours)
We will ride for Nyingtri via Gongbo Gyamda. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 42: Nyingtri – Ranwu
A high altitude pass awaits you after breakfast. You are at the edge of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau and slowly decent into virgin forests and ride along snow capped mountains. Overnight at Ranwu Lake.

Day 43: Ranwu – Zogang (290 KM / 6-7 Hours)
Today we have two passes lay ahead on the way to Zogang. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 44: Zogang – Deqin (Feilaisi) (315 Km / 7-8 Hours)
Follow the might river Mekong and Salween south. Before arriving in Deqin, you will pass by 6,770 meter high Kawa Karpo, the last grand Himalaya peak of your journey into Yunnan. Also, you cross the Tibet-Yunnan border. Near Deqin, at the shores of the Mekong River, you can visit a local Tibetan family and see how people live in this beautiful area. Overnight near the Feilaisi sightseeing platform with grand views of Mt. Kawa Karpo.

Day 45: Deqin – Shangri-La (200Km / 6 Hours)
Ride across Baima pass (4,300 meters) to Shangri-La. Visit old town and also the largest prayer wheel in the world. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 46: Shangri-La – Lijiang (310Km / 6-7 Hours)
Ride across the Tiger Leaping Gorge (the third deepest gorge in the world) to Lijiang. Visit the UNESCO world heritage site in Lijiang in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 47: Lijiang – Dali (200Km / 5 -6 Hours)
Today our ride is going to be an easy ride to Dali. Afternoon at leisure or stroll around. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 48: Dali
Today is a rest day in Dali. We will visit the old town and the 3 pagodas. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 49: Dali – Lincang (400Km / 8-9 Hours)
Our today’s ride will be through subtropical along the tea and banana plantations. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 50: Lincang – Jinhong (426Km / 8-9 Hours)
Today we will be doing a long riding day Jinhong. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 51: Jinhong – Mohanzhen – Exit to Laos (176 Km / 3-4 Hours)
Today we will exit to Laos from China. Clear immigration formalities and enter Laos.
